About

About the competition

Estonian national crop contest is a unique form of sharing best practices in plant cultivation, with the aim of encouraging farmers to try out new cultivation technologies, varieties, and products. In the competition, plant growers test their ability to plan the use of various agricultural inputs and field work. At the same time, they demonstrate their courage to try something new in order to achieve even more effective plant cultivation methods, larger yields, and more environmentally friendly practices. Although Estonian soil and weather conditions are generally considered to be unsuitable for yields comparable to those in Western Europe, the crop contest has clearly shown that it is possible to achieve similar results even in our conditions.
